Biography

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Washington Department of Computer Science & Engineering (UW CSE). My advisor is Professor Dieter Fox. I completed my B.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia.

My research interests are in object recognition, natural scene understanding, and using machine learning techniques to solve robot perception problems. I investigate the detection and recognition of objects in indoor household environments. We are working with data collected using Microsoft Kinect style RGB-D cameras, which can simultaneously collect aligned RGB and depth images at high framerates. I collaborate closely with the Intel Science and Technology Center for Pervasive Computing.
