Bovox Clown Lyrics -- "Circus Acts"

Happy Hippies

Sunshine, shine away
down where the hippies play.
They're singing dancing having fun,
rocking till they see the sun.
Up till the morning light,
down till the break of night.
Sun go have yourself some fun
and shine down on me . . .

Hey, let's hide away
down where the hippies lay.
Meet you with the king and I,
he'll show you how to fly.
Up down and back again,
tomorrow's coming, I don't know when
So brace yourself we're gonna
teach you how to fly.

Shine down on me . . .

Hey, what's coming `round
I heard them laughing at the sound
of many voices singing.
"We're so glad to be with you,
I hope that you would love us too."
Hope that you will listen
and hear the happy hippies singing . . .

When I Was

When I was young,
if I'd fall,
you know that I
would count them all
standing round,
smiles on,
their faces wretched,
turned upside-down.

Turned me upside-down . . .

So I'd roam
to the fields,
where all was found
deep and real.
"Oh," said I
to the butterfly,
"could you please
spare me a ride."

I got on board . . .

We flew by the flowers and travelled the trees,
keeping a watch for the wasps and the bees.
But then they found us, and though I said please,
they chased, and they stung us, and they brought us to our knees.

But I'd count them all . . .

When I was young,
I was small.
You know that I
couldn't count at all.
When I was,
I travelled `round.
The world turned me
upside down.

Dreadlock Blues

I knew a man who come from the islands,
said he was a friend of mine.
He told me stories of basking in glories,
but he knew it was a matter of time.
"So," he said to me one day, "I've got to go away.
You know my friend I'd like to stay,
but with the dreadlock blues there ain't no way."

Well he laid his head on the ground
and tried to get some rest.
He muttered some words I seldom heard,
then the blues they got the best.
"Oh my friend," said I to he,
"if I can do anything, just you speak."
"I," said he, "would love some assistance
but the blues, my friend, they're just too persistent."

Oh my soul,
describe this thing, this existence,
which for now I am blessed.
Bring on thoughts of insanity,
carry through the regrets.
Don't forget your vanity,
pack it up send it far.
Peel away all the feelings
see yourself for what you are.

Roses `Round My Ring

I was resting in an artic cold, while dancing through a daydream.
Running `round a rainbow, while rowing through a rising stream.
It doesn't matter, it just don't mean a thing.
Careless, free-falling carnivals bring roses `round my ring.

I was caught with my halo on while doing a dirty deed.
The calloused creasing colors crept up to crown me.

Reality, reality is just a peace of mind . . .

I was lost in the space between the verses and the other.
The pauper is sleeping with the king's youngest daughter.

Cereal Song

Sometimes I wake up in the morning,
and life is shorter than me.
Take a shower,
look for power,
I eat a bowl of treats.
So out the door I go,
to the place I know
where the people,
who are the people,
these people I call "sir."

You know what I know,
things just getting crazy round here.

`Times like this when I get a feeling,
I'm not one to put it down.
So when I go
where it is slow,
my feet they're leaving the ground.
Then I get in the back
and stay on this side of the track,
and I know that you know
there's things a-comin' around.

Well sometimes it gets so crazy running on around here,
and sometimes I feel like you're pulling me in.

It seems I look for tomorrow,
perhaps thats all I'll find.
In the morning,
in the evening,
we're talking late at night.
I look for the light
to all of life's surprise.
On the TV,
in the movies,
I heard they're messing with our minds.

No...It's a Sample

(Instrumental)

Old Man I

An old man with scars and bags under his eyes,
spoke to me by the fireside.
As he spoke he lit up his pipe
and began to speak of his past life.

He said, "Hiding out in a world full of pain and fire
leaves you stumbling, bumbling, old, and unwise.
But if I could do it all again,"
said the old man as sparks in the fire came alive,
"I'd risk my life, though I fear and I hate pain,
yes I'd lay it all on the line.
You see years ago,
I sat fumbling while a party of rogues took my gold and my wine."

Just then the fire faded and fell,
along with the old man to where I couldn't tell.
But I still hear his voice deep in my head.
He says, "If I could do it all again . . ."

Old Man II

Morning came and went and past,
I came across the old man at last.
He was young, young again.
He was I, as I was him.

We walked on by the pines,
leaving what we had left behind.
We walked on down the line.
We walked on, the weather's fine.

Jump in . . .

Weaving like the days gone by,
we pushed forward in disguise,
leaving all, set in to none.
Doing all to let in some.

Jump in . . .

Old Man III

Can you remember your heart beating faster?
Can you remember the way you sway?
Can you remember, forever and ever,
the way you felt that day?
When the light beamed beside you,
like the beat of the drum,
left with nothing or particularly some.
Oh what a feeling, it was all she wrote,
and the old man's hand kept you afloat.

You swayed on the day.
You stayed too far away.

I was trapped at heart and cold inside.
Oh what a feeling within my mind.
But then that feeling said "it's all she wrote,"
I gotta run yes I --
I gotta go on my way . . .

Oh for a flicker, a glimmer of hope,
lost, gone, and out of control.
And I found, that when I'd tried,
I was treading water while I was blind.

I was laughed at hard and partially blind.
Oh for a feeling within my eyes.
But then that feeling came, and it's all she wrote.
I gotta run . . .

Oh I know I heard the news in the summer sky
and learned to cross my eyes.
And all the people said the old man was to wind up dead.
Let all your fears combine.
And, well, the weather changed, the docks were turned, re-arranged.
Let all your fears subside . . .

Last Chance

I woke up to the sound of fleeting matter I had spurned.
I'm alive.
I heard the bells ringing, going jingling in my mind.
I'm alive.

Just the wind don't know where the time has gone,
and the time don't know with which to stop the rain,
but I'm not afraid.

I just heard the news today,
you must be so proud to know.
Tell me how's it feel? (I feel the same)
Tell me what's your reason? (no reason)
How did you make it rhyme? (I don't know)
Can't you help me out here? (No, I ain't got time to say. . .)

Just then the wind turned an awful shade of yellow.
Running around the room, it landed on my pillow.
My mind was twisted, bended gently by the thunder,
left me running through the fields with the feeling I am under,
in my mind.
