• Floating-gate MOSFETs

  • Single transistor
  • Nonvolatile
  • Low power

• Can we incorporate the other attributes?

  • Locally computed, bidirectional memory updates
  • Transistor computes locally (local multiplies)

• The answer: Yes

  • We call the devices synapse transistors
