Her most impressive demonstration was the Opine system, which extracted product attributes, and associated opinions, from reviews found on-line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usna.edu\/Users\/cs\/lmcdowel\/\">Dr. Luke McDowell<\/a> \u2022 <strong><em>U.S. Naval Academy<\/em><\/strong> \u2022 Bringing Meaning to the Masses \u2022 Co-advisor: Alon Halevy \u2022 2004\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Investigated how to make the Semantic Web a reality and how to generalize the vision to encompass email as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/perkowitz.net\/\">Dr. Mike Perkowitz<\/a> \u2022 <strong><em>HBO<\/em><\/strong> \u2022 Adaptive Web Sites \u2022 2000\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Investigated web sites that automatically reconfigure their layout and presentation by analyzing user access patterns recorded in their server logs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/zamiroren\">Dr. Oren Zamir<\/a> \u2022 <strong><em>Google<\/em><\/strong> \u2022 Clustering Web Documents: A Phrase-Based Method for Grouping Search Engine Results \u2022 1999\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Investigated the use of a novel and fast clustering algorithm to group the results of Web search engines into easily-browsed clusters. The most distinctive aspect of the algorithm was its treatment of documents as strings of words, represented by a suffix tree, in contrast with the standard vector-based representation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/selberg\">Dr. Erik Selberg<\/a> \u2022 <strong><em>Microsoft<\/em><\/strong> \u2022 Towards Comprehensive Web Search \u2022 1999\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explored meta-search as embodied in MetaCrawler.
