Face of the Allen Center from Stevens Way showing radius curve.

View into atrium, showing "flying walkways" on the right.

Interior face of building looking into the Atrium.

From the atrium looking towards EE up the bridge-support columns.
Note the ladder at the top beam -- it's 85 feet down the column to the base of
the atrium (gulp!). The top beam will support the glass skylight to the atrium.
(You get a better feel for the height in the full-sized version [click on photo].)

In the atrium looking towards the entrance. Scaffolding is being used to construct
a hanging circular stairway that winds up in the atrium, attaching to the landings
that look like diving platforms. Left of the walkways and landings on each level
are student breakout areas that look down into the atrium from between the walkway
and the EE wall to the left.

6th floor faculty office wing with structural steel roof.

Office corridor facing the sylvan grove.

Interior wall structure from inside grad office corridor -- openings are
windows to allow natural light through the office into the hallways
and labs across the hall.

Another view of grad office corridor from the inside, showing the view
out into the atrium.

One of the monster air-handling units installed on the penthouse
deck. It required a 300-ton crane to lift them into place, and parts
of EE had to be evacuated for safety when they were lifted over
the existing EE building.

Opening in the 6th floor slab that will become an open,
high-finish, interior stair joining the 5th and 6th floors.

6th floor along Stevens Way showing depressed slab on left (next to wood
railing) that will become an outdoor deck on this level. This hallway
contains the Gates Commons, two smaller conference rooms, and the
department lounge.

View to the east from the deck outside the Gates Commons.

The space needle from the 6th floor southwest-facing faculty
corridor looking over the Sylvan Grove.

West view from 6th floor over chemistry building to Olympics.
