SENSUS (Cranor and Cytron)
- employs a pollster program that performs all cryptographic functions and transactions with the election programs on the voter’s behalf => Reduce Voter’s works.
- The tallier responds to the encrypted ballot submitted by the voter by sending a receipt to the voter. The voter can now send the decryption key immediately => Election complete in one session.
The final dialogue between the tallier and the voter is not secure. It is possible for the tallier to trace the voter. This can be rectified by :
- Anonymous remailing.
- Split votes into shares and give these shares to different authorities. Authorities count the votes independently and send these partial results to the Central Authority who then finds the final results. (Cramer, Franklin, Schoenmakers, Yung - 1996)
