In certain elections there are different types of ballot papers and each voter is eligible to vote in some of them. The authority should take care that no voter votes on ballot papers not meant for him.
- The modification is that at the time of validation, the validator sends the right ballot paper signed by him.
- But now, two voters from different ballot papers classes may collaborate.
- So different keys should be used while signing the encrypted vote by the validator, so that its verification by the tallier discloses the voters’ eligibility for the ballot class.
A tallier can refuse to count a vote by modifying the signature data before publishing the list.
- The modification is to have multiple counters who could prove that a vote was dropped by some other counter.
