I am interested in software engineering, software security, and data science, in particular static and dynamic program analysis, developer productivity, and applied statistics and machine learning.
I am recruiting strong students at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Prospective students should have interests in topics related to the research areas above.
Bio
René Just is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington. His research interests are in software engineering, software security, and data science, in particular static and dynamic program analysis, developer productivity, and applied statistics and machine learning. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Award and two Most Influential Paper (10-year test-of-time) Awards. His research won multiple distinguished paper awards and honorable mentions. He develops research and educational infrastructures that are widely adopted by other researchers and instructors (e.g., Defects4J and the Major mutation framework).
